it is perfect. We use Bitmap when we want display photograph pictures

Vector Image : we save
the picture under mathmatical data and display it to the monitor. So
we can zoom in a vector image without worry about its quality. But it's
rarely use in World Wide Web.

Format types of images in web:

GIF (Graphics Interchange Format): It's
a very common type in WWW and other online services. A GIF image only
content 256 colors and has an independent background, so we can create
some transparent images. The most popular in GIF version is 89A or Gif
Animation, it can content many pictures and display it in a serial images
so people think they watch a short animation..

JPEG (Joint Photographic Experts Group):
It supports 24 bit color ( 16.7 million colors ), so it is used in advance
graphic design to create complex and digital images. So it is not used
to make simple images, people often use it to save some photograph pictures...

PNG (Portable Network Graphics):
PNG appear as a new version of graphic in Web. It supports transparent
background and 24 bit colors, and it also let us encrypt pictures in
horzontal or vertical direction without losing any data. |
